On Saturday, December 13, on the feast of Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called; clergy and faithful flocked to St. Andrew Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA, to mark the parish's patronal feastday.
The parish's rector, Archpriest Mark Shin was co-served at the Divine Liturgy by: Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Dean of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, N.J., Secretary of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR; Archimandrite Christopher (Romanian Orthodox Church); Archpriest Liubo Milosevich, rector of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Vineland, N.J.(ROCOR);Archpriest Nikolai Buga, rector of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Philadelphia; Archpriest Milorad Orlic, rector of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthoodox Church in Elkins Park, Pa.; Priest Gregory Winsky, cleric of St. Michael’s Church in Philadelphia, PA; Priest Alexander Tsygankov, parish cleric; Priest Valery Sukholobov, rector of the Church of Our Lady "Joy of all who Sorrow" (ROCOR) in Philadelphia; Protodeacon Leonid Roschko cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (ROCOR) in Lakewood, N.J.
A large array of fresh flowers gave our church a festive appearance. A peaceful and prayerful mood inspired both clergy and laity. Representatives of the Russian Navy from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington D.C. joined us for St. Andrew’s Day: Military Attache, Colonel Pavel Aleksandrovich Terkin and Assistant Military Attache, Captain 3rd rank Ilya Vasilievich Vitko. . After the Liturgy, the Holy Dormition Sisterhood invited everyone to a delicious and plentiful festal (Lenten) dinner. Colonel P.A. Terkin gave words of greeting to all present.
