On the Fifth Sunday of Lent, commorating St. Mary of Egypt, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City.
Their Graces were co-served by clerics of St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign.
After the reading of the Gospel, Bishop John delivered a sermon on the topic of the Sunday's Gospel reading. After the Augmented Litany, the Bishop John raised up prayers for peace in Ukraine.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop John greeted Bishop Nicholas and thanked him for his prayers during the Divine Liturgy. Bishop Nicholas then in turn thanked Bishop John for the initiation to serve at St. Nicholas Cathedral and wished him and the clergy and faithful a spiritually uplifting remainder of Great Lent.
Interaction between the Archpastors continued in the refectory of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
