On Sunday July 19, the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, clergy, parishioners and guests of St. Elias Church in Battle Creek, MI came together to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the parish's founding. The joyous occasion began with the celebration of Divine Liturgy served by parish rector, Archpriest Lawrence Bacik. Clergy from neighboring parishes joined the parish family for the anniversary. The choir under the direction of Stephen Hanchar sang the responses. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a cross-procession was held around the property of the church. Fr. Lawrence also congratulated one of their parishioners with her high school graduation. Afterwards, the parish hosted a bountiful luncheon for all present.
