On January 6-7, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk led the All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City.
On Saturday evening, January 6, Bishop John led the All-Night Vigil for the feast co-served by cathedral clergy. Bishop John greeted the faithful at the service's conclusion after which the Hierarchal Choir sang traditional Christmas carols.
At midnight, January 7, His Grace Bishop John led the festal Divine Liturgy co-served by cathedral clergy. Singing at the Divine Liturgy was the Hierarchal Choir of St. Nicholas Cathedral under the direction of Ksenia Afansieva. During the Communion of the clergy, the Nativity Epistle of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia was read aloud. At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop John addressed the faithful with a sermon dedicated to feast. Interaction continued in the cathedral refectory where a festal meal was prepared and parishioners were treated to the singing of various carols.
On Sunday morning, the late Divine Liturgy was served led by cathedral cleric, Archpriest Alexander Golubov. Singing was the weekday choir under the direction of Evgeny Sivtsov.
